Low-dye taping
LOW-DYE TAPING TECHNIQUE is designed to off-load the plantar fascia and provide medial ankle arch support. It is a classic taping method incorporating functional mechanical support of the foot and ankle. This technique in taping is used predominantly for injuries or pain attributed to excess pronation in stance or during gait. Any injury that is aggravated by or secondary to abnormal stresses from pronation should benefit to some degree with this tape, if properly applied. It reduces subtalar joint motion. It can be used in the treatment of ankle, foot and in some cases assists with knee pain. It is a short term treatment and its off-loading effects vary from patient to patient.
NB*** If at anytime the tape is uncomfortable, irritates, causes itching, heat increases in pain or pins and needles it should be removed immediately.
